MOC Softwood Wallboard is a patented composite panel that binds Magnesium Oxychloride cement with sustainably-sourced Canadian softwood sawdust. Advanced fire-retardant additives and kraft paper facing deliver Class A fire resistance, superior structural strength, and 80% lower moisture absorption than traditional gypsum. Manufactured entirely from domestic byproducts, it costs 26% less than the product it replaces, without sacrificing performance.
What looks like a simple panel is the result of precision materials science. The cross-section of MOC Softwood Wallboard reveals three distinct layers working in unison, a kraft paper facing that bonds the surface, a light grey Magnesium Oxychloride cement matrix that provides exceptional structural strength, and a core of Canadian softwood sawdust particles ground to 40–200 mesh. Interwoven kraft cellulose pulp fibres add tensile resilience, while APP/Borax fire retardant, distributed evenly throughout the core, is what stands between a building and the spread of flame. At just 12.7mm, it is thinner than perception and stronger than expectation.
